Newest Matt Cutts's SEO TIps

Hello folks,

today I want to share something interesting with you. It is about what Matt Cutts tells about the SEO now-a-days, and specially the latest tendency in the SEO.

@Matt Cutts: Don't Rely on Just One Channel

You know what does means, right? You should use several social site (as mush as you are into, the better will be) when you are sharing your thoughts with the world.

As we all are already familiar with - Google has never been so unpredicted and that's why webmasters and site owners look at social channels as an alternative traffic resource. Google will continue updating its algorithm, according to Matt Cutts opinion. It is all because spammers and people manipulating the SERPs in many ways. The search engine tries to make it harder for spammers to rank their sites on top positions.

@Matt Cutts: "So we are always going to be updating, always going to change things to make things better, always trying to innovate the way that we record search algorithms, that's just the nature of the beast. The goal is always the same, to return the highest quality set of search results."

"So rather than trying to figure out reverse engineering our algorithm and trying to find all the different ways to rank higher and trying to take shortcuts, as long as you're trying to make a fantastic site that people love, that's really compelling, that there are always going to, that's the sort of thing that puts you on the same side as Google,"

"I'm all for having eggs in lots of different baskets, because if your website goes down and then you can always have your brick-and-mortar business," Cutts said. "If your ranking on Google is not as good, then you can have other channels that you can use – from print media advertising, to billboards, to Twitter, to Facebook. So you should always have a very well-rounded portfolio of ways to get leads whether from people walking through your door or Yellow Pages or whatever it is, because you can't count on any one channel always working out perfectly.

"As long as you have great content you should do well in Google, but you know if people are spamming or you hire a bad SEO, that can lead to unpredictable results."

Making it harder for spammers, will also give the webmasters a something to think of. Matt Cutts also point the attention to the good content. Why? Well, that is really what the end user wants to see once he opens the SERPs. So, the main goal of Google is to make happy the end user, not the SEO companies. And social signals are just one of the things that the Google algorithm takes in its calculations. And why not, people likes and shares are more than a signal for everyone that something is interesting, valuable and must be well-ranked.

@Matt Cutts: Guest Blogging Best Done In Moderation

This is what I have been recommending for many years. Yes, blogging for someone is not gonna make your links (in the reports) look bought. ;)

The video tells us how to do guest blogging properly in order to be natural link building, not paid. Matt Cutts has also mentioned that when Google's spam team reviews reports, he can see which one is organic (natural) guest blog content and which is not - has paid for a link on the blog. One of the reasons is that the post does not match the subject of the blog. For example, if your blog is about Home and Garden, will be really strange to have a post about forex trading. If you have such a section, it is OK, but if you don't, well, you can see for yourself that does not look natural at all. Right?

The natural looking guest blogging should be written by an expert, without a lot of keywords in the body and anchor text links.

@Matt Cutts: “Guest blogging seems like it’s the fad of the month. It shouldn’t be your full-time job.”

He has also mentioned that you are not doing a big favors for your site’s reputation, if it's all you do to drive traffic to your site.

Guest blogging is one of the perfect ways to get natural links to your site. The best thing here, is that you are not only getting incontent link, but also the post there brings you good and quality traffic. So, I am going to give some tips here, as an addition to what Matt Cutt mentioned:

1. Make your article unique, interesting and really attractive. Like you want to share it with the whole world. Personally, I write an article 2-3 days, because I want it perfect and shared on as much as possible social sites. Which is what we red in the first Blinky's post. Well, I am not writing it all of the time, but need to rest for a while and start again. A good article is written well, when you use your brain on 100%. So, you can see that 1-2 hours of non stop writing could not bring that effect. The quality means one thing - the post is there to inform people, not to sell a link. Keep this in your mind. That's what Matt tries to say, but using his own words.

2. Do not forget to provide relevant images or/and videos. You know how important is your article to look full and completed. Text is great, but you need some eye-catching stuff. The best combination I have ever seen was with both - images and pics. You can add even more - PDFs, infographis, tables and what ever your content need it. Really, do not ignore them. Use is smart. Designers are really blessed here. :) If they want to write something - they will make it professional.

3. Insert your link not only because you need the link, you need also the traffic. To make it clear here, will write you this - insert your link in a strong paragraph. You know where your text has a lot of saturated information. Do not overdo it. Two links are enough, believe me.

4. Grab your readers in the beginning of the post. It is really important how you will read your title, first sentences and most of all - what the reader will see, once he open the article - #2 tip. You really need to take him to your link, and ev

Hope you like it. Will be happy to see somebody else thoughts. Don't be shy....you are more than welcome.

I think he is a good manipulator. By the way, Google needs such a people in its team. There have to be one man giving bullshits to SEO experts. :) Either way will be much worst. :)

The logic is well-known, act like human, take it deeply as a bot. :)

Google needs to have someone to explain why is so hard for SEOs. If there is no communication about this, no one will talk about SEO, Google and etc. like they don't do it so frequently about Bing, Yahoo, Ask and others. :)

I consider Mat Cuts as a PR, not as a SEO expert or what so ever. ;)

He is defiantly more than PR. :) And he is good at it. :)

There should be someone who can (in some ways) explain what Google is planning and what new could we expect from them. More often we see Matt Cutts, more efforts we will need to put in order to adapt our sites to latest algorithm changes.

One think will be constant - quality, people and branding. ;)

There should be no drama in that. All you need to know - quality, people and popularity, as @Blinky wrote above.

Guest blogging is cool. I've been doing it since I run a blog. :) Strongly recommended and will keep doing it. Of course, it is important to know how to do it in order not to look paid, as the SEO guy told us in the videos. :)

Re: От: Newest Matt Cutts's SEO TIps

Wow! Very specific answer as always :)

Yeap, the answer is not so clear, but at lease we all know what he means. By the way, he forgot to mention that linking to spammy sites is not allowed as well, no matter that you will probably have one or two links pointing to bad resource. You know which ones - porno sites, casino, torrents, hate, link farms and etc. Actually, he told about this in his words "pointing to quality resources". But just in case to definite them. :)

Nothing new under the sum. Someone said that. :)

"The links could be more, or less, depending on the quality and size of the content, and length of the page. Links should point to quality resources, having useful information for the users."

Well, it's time to say....You don't say :)

Anyway, having this in mind...now we know, what we already knew and keep repeating it - quality, quality, quality.
